Deleting your account and data

You can permanently delete your Mendum account at any time. Deletion cannot be undone.

Deleting from inside the app (recommended)

1. Open Mendum and sign in to your account.
2. Go to the Profile tab.
3. Tap Legal → Delete Account.
4. Read what will be deleted, then type your email address to confirm.
5. Tap Permanently delete my account.

The process completes within a few seconds and you are signed out.

If you can’t access the app

If you no longer have your phone, have deleted the app, or cannot sign in, send an email titled “Account deletion request” from the address registered to your account to the address in the imprint below. After verifying your identity we complete the request within 30 days at the latest.

As a parent or legal guardian you may request deletion of an account belonging to a user under 18; we may ask for additional identity verification.

Data that is deleted

• Your account and sign-in credentials
• All question photos you uploaded (including archived copies of deleted questions)
• Your mistake notebook: saved questions, extracted question text, the answers you marked, mistake-cause classifications
• Practice questions generated for you
• Your statistics, per-objective counters and mistake event records
• Custom subject names and your interests
• Your feedback and survey responses
• Your plan and usage allowance records
• If you signed in with Apple, Mendum’s access to your Apple account is also revoked

Data that is not deleted

The anonymous question cache. To avoid processing the same question repeatedly, text and solutions extracted from questions are held in a shared cache that contains no user identifier. These records include nothing that identifies you, not the answer you marked and not your photo — so they are not removed when an account is deleted. Details: Privacy Policy, section 7.

Records we are legally required to retain (if any) are kept for the period prescribed by law.

Your subscription — cancel it separately

Important: Deleting your account does not cancel your App Store subscription. The subscription is managed by Apple; if you don’t cancel it, billing continues.

On your iPhone: Settings → your Apple Account → Subscriptions → Mendum → Cancel Subscription

We recommend cancelling your subscription before deleting your account.

Signing up again

You can create a new account with the same email address later. The new account starts completely empty; deleted data cannot be restored.
